Bucking brush and stacking fire wood. The important essentials of every childhood! Jess was a good sport and listened to a lot of complaints from the little brother as he puffed along behind her. I'm so proud that she's a hard worker and that the princess stage (ages 2-7) have given way to a strong country girl! She's not scared of a little dirt.

Joshy stacked this pile and he was very proud. He did great and really was a big help. By the end of the morning though....well.......we quit counting how many breaks he had. Ha! But hey, I remember working with brush when the pitchfork was taller than me. It's hard work to start with but when the rakes and pitchforks are taller than you it makes the job extra tough. He was a trooper.

Each of the kids got special time to ride with Dad and haul out stumps.

Zachy didn't understand why he didn't get to go on every ride.

Joshy wanted to test out (play with) all the levers so he could learn how they worked.

Slowly (oh soooooo slowly) the home site is taking shape. Next winter we will burn this stacked firewood in our own fireplace in our Someday House and we will talk about how we all worked together as a family to make this happen.
