A Visit to the Alamo

Everyone standing out front of the actual fort.
Full view of the front of the Alamo. We had beautiful weather - but it was hot!
Looking at how the walls were made, rock by rock, really gives you a feeling of how much work and effort went into just simple survival during this time in our country's history.
The grounds were beautiful and very shaded. I'm sure that wasn't there during the Glory Days but it serves as an oasis to tourists now. I think it added a sense of peaceful dignity to the Fort.
Nana and Papa Erick enjoying a "sit break" while they watched Joshy chase all the little sparrows in the area.
Time for an "Ice Cream" break! Jessa was so sweet to share her treat with her little brother. He kept getting distracted though by all those little birdies who would get soooo close and then fly away from him!
